It has been a while since my last update, on something of a high after setting a new PB at the Salisbury 10-mile run race in early March. Since then both quite a lot and not very much(!) has happened.

So it’s been a little while since my last update, and as I’m sat here on a Sunday evening (the training plan says an hour’s easy run, the body says that after twenty hours this week, don’t be so bloody stupid!) I thought I might as well write a little update on the last couple of weeks.

If you’ve been reading previous blog posts, you’ll know all-too-much already about my knee issues. While I can’t unfortunately report any miraculous recovery, I can at least say that things might at least be getting no worse. In addition to my nightly appointments with the foam roller and tennis ball, I think there are two main factors playing a role in this.

So the knee issues persist. If I sound like a stuck record, believe me no-one is more irritated by this than me.

In the last few weeks I've started seeing an osteopath in Bristol. The long and short of it seems to be that there isn't just one issue causing my pain, but rather a combination of many things.

It feels like ages since my last blog update.  In fact it’s only nine days or so, but I guess that just illustrates the immediacy of social media and the web!

I toyed with the idea in the days after my last race (Marlborough, my first AG win) with a follow-up post entitled ‘Maybe that wasn’t such a good idea!’.  The truth is that I spent the next three days after the race in a lot of pain and could hardly walk.

For those of you who read my Dambuster report, you might recall I mentioned using kinesio tape on my right leg for the race, due to some knee niggles.  Well, it seems the niggles were more serious than I at first thought. Ever since the race, my right knee has been steadily getting worse, to the point where I have now decided I really need to ease up for a week or so.
